Arctic Freeze on Lake Ontario

On a minus -28 degree morning, mist rises from the lake.

This weekend Toronto has been rattled from its above seasonal winter with a weekend wide deep freeze. The above seasonable temperatures have briefly been replaces with temperatures getting into the -30’s overnight. This is cold, cold enough in fact that my car has had difficulty starting in the morning. Needless to say it’s gotten a bit nippy. But the cool crisp weather has made for some interesting viewing. The lake down at the Beaches has been “steaming” in the frigid weather, with mist rising from the water like a boiling cauldron. I had to make my way out to the beach and check it out and take a few pictures.
